The sign "eigen weg" indicates that this is a private road. Free for use in this case (there wouldn't be a sign "Fietspad" otherwise) but the owner doesn't accept responsability for any mishaps to the user, and also doesn't clear the path in winter. Also insurance companies will be very reluctant to part with their money in case of an accident.

Tout d'abord, si vous lisez "tvrfvvlster" comme "turfvulster" il serait plus évident qu'il s'agit d'une femme qui remplit (vullen = to fill) une corbelle. Le mur de brique se compose également de tourbes. La principale destination de la tourbe était le chauffage.
If you read "tvrfvvlster" as "turfvulster" it soon becomes clear that this is a woman putting peat into a basket, so filling a basket with peat. What you see as a brick wall is in fact a heap of loose peat bricks. Peat was commonly used for heating - before coal and oil became available. It was horribly dusty.

The painter Mondrian (Pieter Cornelis "Piet" Mondriaan) is Dutch and this is maybe why in architecture Dutch like angular shapes and vivid colours. This house is a good exemple, it is as angular as its neighbours but has the favorite primary colours of the master of de Stijl.

Le peintre Montrian (Pieter Cornelis "Piet" Mondriaan) est néerlandais et c'est sans doute pour celà que les néerlandais aime ce qui est carré avec des couleurs vives en architecture. Cette maison est un bon exemple. Cubique, tout comme ses voisines, elle arbore les couleurs préférées du maître de De Stijl.

L'annonce insiste pour ne louer l'appartement qu'à des personnes de 55 ans et plus! Je ne savais pas que la ségrégation était autorisée...
